GOOD NEWS Pictures, Images and Photos

Just Desserts - Tami’s Good News

I just finished up one year of school (that I hadn’t planned to take yet…grin…). I’m looking at another 4 semesters to graduate in May 2010. Still on track for that.

I start a new job in a few weeks (along with full-time school). This should be a fun experience.

I'm 50 pages from finishing the edits on my most recent completed manuscript (# 4). I'll send it to a friend to review when I'm finished and then cross my fingers before sending it off to an editor. Wish me luck!!!!

How about you? Any good news to share???

Congratulations on the new job! I didn't realize you had landed one. Working and full-time and going to school full-time isn't easy. Be sure to take time for yourself and your writing.

Good luck with your book and congrats on the new job.

Thanks a ton, ladies. It's one of those opportunities that was VERY hard to pass up. I know I'll be super busy, but the best thing with this job is that it is a co-opand they will work around my school.

Thanks, Kelley. I'm really trying to focus on the book. My writing is NOT something I want to let slip to the wayside behind everything else...

So what kind of book are you working on? Care to share a blurb about it?

Way to go, Tammy. Good luck on all your projects, especially your book!

And don't forget to add to the list that you got Petit Fours and Hot Tamales rolling. :)

Way to go!

Way to go Tami. I hope to have some good news later. I've entered the Great Expections Contest. I have high hopes this year.

My mother always says that if you want something to get done, ask a busy person.

That's you, Tami.

Good news ... hmmmm.....

Well, I don't have any bad news as I've sent out my WIP to my first editor and haven't heard anything back yet (no news is good news, eh?).

But I still say that sending out your creative work is like being left in the exam room ... without a tissue skirt.

Congrats on all the good news, Tami! I'm happy that yesterday I finally finished up some revisions on a ms I've had for awhile and would just work on around other projects. But I sent it to my agent yesterday, and hopefully I can sell it to Superromance.

Hi Everyone. I take a nice quiet drive with my family and come back to a bunch of comments. Yes!!! Love to see that!!!

A - the completed WIP is a sexy Blaze type story. I've revamped it so many times I'm almost sick of it....grin... But I feel it is that much closer to being done. I'm also working on another sexy Blaze type story and a time-travel YA. This is way out there for me, but it has been swimming in my head for so long, I just can't ignore it any longer...

Hey Linsey. Yes, this blog idea has been a LOT of fun. I've learned a ton from all of you about this whole process and I'm thrilled with the company I get to share it with... You all rock!!!

Hey Susan. Best of luck with the Great Expectations contest. You are well on your way of achieving those goals!!! I am truly inspired by you...

JP, you are hilarious. I never thought about submitting in quite that way before. I will now and maybe while I'm laughing my head off, I'll forget how sick I feel when I hit that enter key or drop the envelope in the mailbox.

Hey Trish!!! I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed for you. I LOVED your firefighter book and am on pins and needles for your YA book to come out in April. I LOVE the cover and can't wait. Keep on writing because I am definitely one your fans...

Wow Tami! You are certainly busy. Congrats on such good news. I received my edits from my editor and I'm happy to report that there aren't a lot of major changes to be done. YAY!

Good luck with everything in the new year and don't forget to look me up next week!

Congrats on finishing another semester in school - one step closer to the end - and on getting a new job. With today's economy and cutbacks, this is a big accomplishment.

Just remember to squeeze in that writing between school, work and family. Not a problem, huh?

Oh man, thank God you're one of those that responds to the posts we ...uh ... post.

Makes us feel like we're not talking to a brick wall.

Hey Abi. I will definitely take your number with me. I'm not sure how much time we will have. I may end up sleeping all week with this darn cold we ended up with...grrrr....

Hi Cici. I was definitely jumping for joy when I found out I got this job. It is a co-op position that works around my classes and can (more than likely will if I don't mess up...grin...) turn into full time. My hubby just did this same co-op program and the benefits are awesome. I'm thrilled I don't have to stress about that dreaded job hunt...

Trust me when I say I am definitely going to TRY to squeeze in that writing. I have taken a page out of Stephanie Bond's book and am using that timer. I also have an Alpha Smart and plan to pack that in my purse and hope to type out a few pages in-between classes and during my breaks. Start the habit off early and maybe it will stick...grin...

Hey JP. I LOVE to read the responses and there is no way I can keep quiet and not answer. My favorite blogs are interactive and I hope this is something we can all be encouraged to do!!!

I'm definitely looking forward to your post on Wednesday. I'll be on vacation but my hubby has promised we can find a internet connection somewhere....

Tami, I admire your fortitude. I have trouble just juggling my full time job and writing. And the rest of you...I tip my hat to all that industriousness. :)

Good news, hmmm...well, I had a good check up at the dentist yesterday. Look Ma, no cavities! LOL!

Seriously, I have no news, writing-wise. Just plugging along, trying to get the first draft of my very first Regency era book finished--with lots of helpful advice from my CP.

Abi, I'll be headed south Wednesday night to Ft. Lauderdale. I'll wave as I speed past in the middle of the night.

Abigail said...

Tami - I hope you feel better and are able to enjoy your vacation!

Cinthia - Have fun in Ft. Lauderdale! Next time stop over. I can't believe I have to wait until M&M to see all you ladies again!

Hey, Tami,

Great news on the completion of one semester and the new job. And I'm looking forward to seeing your completed manuscript!

Good news for me? Well, I'm still on the TWRP Wilder Roses bestseller list--three weeks running; and my book, Stroke of Midnight, has been nominated for Best Short Romance-2008 at Editors and Preditors poll...

http://www.critters.org/predpoll/shortstoryr.shtml

(You'll have to cut and paste to vote...please!)

I've written every day this week...finished my synopsis for Stroke of Genius...and got the first five pages written (as ya'll know, that white page staring at you is the hardest one!) But I start back to school on Monday so I'll have to prioritize my big rocks so I don't get sucked in by doing all the little stuff (7Habits people will understand.)

Sounds like you're off to a great start!

Congrats on all the good news, Tami and good luck with the new job! Looks like a very exciting year ahead for you.

Good news for me is: I got a great check-up report at the doc's, found one of my college roommates on Facebook and re-connected after 34 years, caught up on reading my "to-be-reviewed" books and turned in three completed reviews to RNTV (the first one posted today), all of which makes me very happy.

JP, you slay me. I never know what's going to come out of your mouth but I can always be sure it's going to make me smile.

Tami Brothers said...

Hey Cinthia. I'm glad the dentist visit went well. I've never been a huge fan of those docs...grin...

Keep at the WIP. I know how hard it can be...

Thanks, Abi. I've stocked up on cold meds and cough drops. The good news is that most of that stuff I might not have to repack and bring home. Leaving more room in the suitcase for suveniors...woohoo...

Hi Ana. I'm working on that darn thing. I keep going over it and thinking 'that sucks. I'll just tweak this.' Then I end up having to change the whole thing.... Bleh....

FYI I went over and voted. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you... And great job on the writing. I am truly inspired...

Hi PJ. Congrats on finding your fiend. That's pretty cool. It's amazing how easy it is to keep in contract with old friends now days. Also, kudos on the doctor visit and getting caught up on the reviews. I look forward to reading them!!!
