Author: Heather MacAllister
Series: Blaze (Encounters) #473, Jun-09
Genre: Erotic Romance
These weddings are starting with a bang!
They never thought a fitting would lead to erotic confessions! But thanks to one very thin wall between the dressing rooms in a bridal shop and a tuxedo boutique, four lucky couples are about to be enlightened—and delightfully satisfied...
UNDRESSED is a Blaze Encounters (what Blaze editors call a 5-in-1 short story collection) and was a new experience for me. The stories are somewhat intertwined in that they encompass a bridal shop owner, her assistant and three customers. The shop owner’s story bookends the others as a Prologue and Epilogue, making five stories in all.
While there are love scenes, overall the couples do more fantasizing than lovemaking, engage in sexy talk through a thin dressing room wall, and flirt heavily, but the most sensual elements come into play from the couples who refrain from sex. Yes, you read that right.
I was a bit skeptical about any author maintaining the customary Blaze heat level in a series of short stories, but Heather MacAllister came very close. For me, the most delicious sexual tension came Cara and Austin and from Anji and Devak, an Indian couple who’ve only met once and are preparing for their arranged marriage. In anticipation of their wedding night, they embark on a quest to reawaken their libidos, which have been suppressed while dealing with their medical residencies. MacAllister’s treatment of their story also resulted in several achingly tender moments which made me teary. Well done!
